SHARENEWS.ID,Gorut- Komitmen Pemerintah Daerah Kabupaten Gorontalo Utara (Gorut) dalam menata kawasan Benteng Kota Maas di Desa Cisadane, Kecamatan Kwandang, Kabupaten Gorontalo Utara (Gorut) merupakan salah satu aset peninggalan sejarah yang kemudian perlu dilestarikan.
Seperti yang disampaikan Bupati Gorut, Indra Yasin, setelah baru-baru ini hadir membuka kegiatan sosialisasi hasil penelitian arsitektur Benteng Kota Maas, di salah satu cafe di Kota Gorontalo. Senin (25/10/2021).
Sosialisasi itu, kaitan dengan penelitian yang dilakukan oleh pihak Balai Arkeologi Suluttenggo (Sulawesi Utara, Tengah dan Gorontalo).
Di mana, beberapa waktu lalu, telah dilakukan penelitian dan ekskavasi di sekitaran kawasan bangunan Benteng Kota Maas dengan berbagai temuan menarik, salah satunya struktur sumur tua.
“Ada juga koin kuno dua keping. Ini tentunya akan membuka tabir, siapa sebetulnya yang membangun benteng itu dengan tujuan untuk apa,” ungkapnya.
Ia menilai, penamaan Benteng Kota Maas, tentu itu sebagai pertanda bahwasanya wilayah Gorontalo Utara memiliki kekayaan sumber daya alam berupa emas. Sehingga lanjut kata Bupati Indra, bukan hal yang mustahil jika Benteng Kota Maas saling berkaitan dengan situs sejarah Benteng Orange yang ada di Desa Jembatan Merah, Kecamatan Tomilito.
“Ini harus kita telusuri lebih jauh lagi. Sehingga saya berharap dengan keberadaan peninggalan situs-situs sejarah yang ada di Gorut akan menjadi aset daerah bahkan negara untuk terus dipertahankan dan dilestarikan,” terangnya.
Makanya, pihaknya kata Indra, dalam upaya pelestarian situs sejarah itu, masih akan membahas dan mengkaji kembali, apakah perlu untuk ditata kembali atau mungkin dibiarkan saja untuk menjaga keasliannya.
“Tapi paling tidak, area itu harus kita segera amankan dengan melakukan pemagaran dan melarang bagi siapa pun yang seenaknya menggunakan serta memanfaatkan pekarangan lokasi situs bersejarah tersebut,” pungkasnya.(Adv/SN07)
